A Program Built on Purpose
SNS Tech is proud to announce the successful completion of the second cohort of its high-impact internship program.
The program was originally designed to span six months. However, due to the outstanding performance demonstrated by the cohort and the immediate operational requirements of the business, it was therefore concluded after three months, which led to the participants being integrated full-time.
This latest intake saw two outstanding interns, Desmond Alben and Anthonia Mitar, engage in hands-on projects, learn new skills, and contribute meaningfully to SNS Tech’s operations and client services.
Desmond’s Journey in Web Development
Desmond joined the Web Development team, diving into a fast-paced, project-heavy environment where no two days were the same. From the outset, he was immersed in real tasks adapting to SNS Tech’s tech stack, assisting with ongoing content and server workflows, and helping streamline processes that keep projects on track.
“Being introduced to the tech stack felt like stepping into unfamiliar territory,” Desmond shared. “But with guidance from the team and constant exposure to real challenges, I began learning quickly; not just technical skills, but communication and teamwork too.”
A highlight of his internship was contributing to multiple live projects. His support helped reduce workload across the team by taking on tasks like content refinement, documentation support, and back-end updates. Desmond’s most impactful contributions were in server-related assignments, where his precision and eagerness to learn stood out.
Head of Web Development, Jacob Segodi, worked closely with Desmond and shared this reflection:
“Desmond has shown significant growth in both consistency and the quality of his work. He was willing to work across all roles in our department from content updates to assisting with server tasks. His ability to pick things up quickly made him a valuable part of the team.”

“We’re constantly juggling at least three live projects, and having Desmond step in has helped us maintain momentum without sacrificing quality. With his attitude and curiosity, I have no doubt that he has a bright future in development and IT.”
Desmond shares that his long-term goal is to grow into his now permanent role as Web Development & Security Engineer, reinforcing his passion for cybersecurity and creating secure, high-quality digital solutions.
Anthonia’s Impact in Admin & Operations
In the Admin Department, Anthonia quickly proved herself as someone who could adapt, learn fast, and contribute effectively. Her role required balancing internal coordination with external communication from vendor management to policy documentation.
“It’s been fascinating to see how SNS Tech supports small businesses in the digital space,” Anthonia reflected. “Behind every client delivery, there’s a lot of internal work and I got to be part of that.”
Throughout her internship, she helped refine compliance documents, supported operational reporting, and improved communication processes within the Admin & Operations team. She described every day as a blend of challenge and pride where she was trusted to contribute while continuously learning.
Finance & Compliance Officer, Dokona Amini, worked closely with Anthonia and

says she had immediately identified her talent.
“When she joined the Admin Department as an intern, I immediately recognized her key strengths: taking initiative, a keen attention to detail, and a remarkable ability to adapt quickly while learning our cross-departmental operations.”
She adds that Anthonia’s transition into the Operations and HR role is a well-deserved next step.
“The role demands strong organizational skills, discretion, and a deep understanding of the company’s internal processes—all qualities Anthonia has consistently demonstrated. I’m confident she has both the drive and capability to excel and make a meaningful impact to the team in her new role.”
Now, as she transitions into a full-time role with SNS Tech, Anthonia is excited to continue making a difference in the digital growth of PNG’s SMEs and grow professionally alongside a dynamic team.
Why Internships Matter
Gerard, Head of Business & Operations, emphasized that the program delivered measurable value across departments:
“Interns supported essential functions including process reviews, documentation, testing, and SOP development. As a result, these contributions improved accuracy, efficiency, and task coverage during a busy quarter. More importantly, it showed that when guided well, young Papua New Guineans can deliver real impact.”
Reinforcing the company’s commitment to talent development, Gerard affirms, “Structured internships like this strengthen our internal systems and nurture the next generation of professionals. We’re expanding the program with standardized onboarding and cross-functional exposure aligned to department KPIs.”
This cohort demonstrated the traits we look for: initiative, adaptability, hunger to learn, and a growth mindset. Their contributions reinforced our ISO-aligned review cycle and improved how we deliver internally.
Looking Ahead

The next intake will build on this momentum through structured onboarding, clear reporting, and wider cross-department exposure. This will further strengthen SNS Tech’s commitment to developing digital talent and improving internal systems.
