What is it and how can it impact businesses?
Cloud computing is essentially the delivery of computing services, or accessing and storing of data over the internet or “the cloud”.
In this day and age, many businesses and individuals have used, or are currently using cloud computing. Some of these cloud services include Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Dropbox, Google Drive, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Amazon Web Services, just to name a few.
Cloud computing is categorized into three primary services: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platforms-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). We will outline these in another post.
Businesses that invest in cloud computing find that they save costs on operational expenses, are flexible when it comes to storage space, bandwidth and remote access, there is improved collaboration & optimum performance, plus there is more ease of software integration when expanding.
